An Inspector of Police from the Mahabage Police Station was arrested by Bribery Commission officials while accepting a bribe of Rs. 25,000. The inspector allegedly solicited the bribe in exchange for promising to intervene in settling a bounced cheque in installments.
Further investigations are ongoing.
