The Samagi Jana Balawega (SJB) and the National Peoples Power (NPP) are preparing to propose an adjournment debate in Parliament today, stressing the necessity of holding the presidential election on schedule.

Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella said that the proposal was introduced during the party leaders' meeting held yesterday.
Kiriella and the NPP leader, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, are determined to ensure the debate takes place.
