Railway operations along the upcountry railway line have been disrupted following the derailment of a train from Colombo Fort to Badulla in Bandarawela. The Railway Control Room reported that the incident will cause delays for the Udarata Menike train scheduled to travel from Badulla to Colombo this morning.

The Railway Department has announced changes to other services due to the derailment. The night mail train from Colombo to Badulla will now terminate at Bandarawela, and the night mail service from Badulla to Colombo Fort has been canceled.
