The Department of Meteorology has issued a 'Red' warning for naval and multi-day fishing communities due to strong winds and rough seas in the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal. Winds of 70-80 kmph and very rough seas are expected in the Arabian Sea (bounded by 10N - 20N and 55E – 75E) and the Bay of Bengal (bounded by 12N - 17N and 83E – 93E) due to active south-west monsoonal conditions.

Communities are advised not to venture into these areas marked by 'RED' on the map until further notice. Those currently at sea should return to the coast or move to safer areas immediately.
