The Teachers and Principals Trade Union Alliance has announced a two-week work-to-rule campaign starting on July 22nd. This decision is in response to the government's failure to address critical issues faced by educators nationwide.

The Alliance, which represents both teachers and principals, will cease all activities outside of teaching, focusing solely on educating students.

Joseph Stalin, General Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers' Union, stated that participation in programs involving politicians within schools will end, and teachers will no longer engage in information-gathering tasks related to political events.
