Former State Minister Diana Gamage has withdrawn her petition challenging the Samagi Jana Balawegaya’s (SJB) decision to revoke her party membership. Gamage's lawyers informed the Supreme Court that she does not intend to proceed with the case.

The SJB expelled Gamage after she voted in favor of the 20th Amendment to the Constitution in 2020, contrary to the party’s unanimous decision to oppose it.
