The All Ceylon Bakery Owners’ Association (ACBOA) is set to announce tomorrow, July 26, whether there will be a reduction in the price of bread. President of the association, N.K. Jayawardena, revealed that a special discussion was held on July 24 regarding the matter, but no final agreement was reached.
The potential price reduction comes in response to recent comments by Minister of Trade Nalin Fernando, who warned that a control price for bread would be imposed if bakery owners do not take action to lower prices. This warning has prompted bakery owners to reconsider the prices of their products, including bread.
