The Election Commission is scheduled to convene today, with the primary focus on announcing the date for the upcoming presidential election. The meeting, led by Chairman R.M.A.L. Ratnayake, will involve extensive discussions on the election timeline.

Chairman Ratnayake reported that the commission has halted nearly 30 events intended to disrupt the electoral process, based on complaints received. Additionally, measures have been taken to stop politically influenced activities such as public appointments and relief distribution.
