The Election Commission said that four candidates have officially secured their places on the ballot for the upcoming Presidential election by depositing the required bonds. Among these candidates are two independents: President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Sarath Keerthiratne.

In addition, Oshala Herath from the New Independent Front and A. S. P. Liyanage from the Sri Lanka Labour Party have also made their deposits.

Candidates have until 12 pm on August 14 to complete their deposits, which can be made during business hours from 8:30 am to 4:15 pm at the specified location.

The required deposit amount for candidates from recognized political parties is Rs. 50,000, while those from non-recognized parties must deposit Rs. 75,000.
