Nurses Attending NPP Meeting in Uniform

The Campaign for Free and Fair Elections (CaFFE) has raised concerns about government nurses attending the National People’s Power (NPP) meeting in uniform, alleging a breach of election regulations.
The National All Ceylon Nurses’ Conference, led by NPP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake, saw nurses in their official uniforms, which CaFFE claims violates the Establishments Code and election rules.
Both CaFFE and the People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections (PAFFREL) have formally notified the National Election Commission about this issue.

The meeting was held today between the country's security chiefs and Election Commission officials, attended by Secretary of Public Security Viyani Gunathilaka and Chief of Defence Staff General Shavendra Silva.
