With just 30 days remaining until the Presidential Election, National People's Power candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake has voiced strong concerns over recent ministerial appointments. Dissanayake questioned the timing and intent behind the appointments of Vadivel Suresh and Ali Sahir Maulana, who have been provided with government vehicles and fuel, potentially enabling them to conduct election campaigns using state resources.
He further said that Ali Sahir Maulana was appointed to parliament after the removal of Nazir Ahamed, and criticized President Ranil Wickremesinghe for making these appointments during the election period, particularly while citing the same period as a reason for not appointing a new Police Chief.
