Colombo Security Conclave Founding Documents Signed

The Founding Documents of the Colombo Security Conclave (CSC) were officially signed by India, Maldives, Mauritius, and Sri Lanka. The signing took place during a visit by India's National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit K. Doval.

The documents, including the Charter and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of the CSC Secretariat, were finalized following the 6th NSA-level meeting held in December 2023 in Mauritius.

Doval spoke about the importance of these agreements in enhancing regional security and stability, and highlighted the CSC’s role in addressing a range of security challenges across the Indian Ocean Region.

During his visit, Doval met with Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, and other key political figures, including opposition leaders and representatives from various regions.
