Sajith Premadasa, presidential candidate for the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), has sharply criticized the recent political alliance between President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Anura Kumara Dissanayake of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP).
Premadasa denounced the so-called "Ranil-Anura agreement," claiming it reflects Ranil Wickremesinghe’s desperation and his inability to win independently. He urged UNP members to support the SJB instead, arguing that a vote for Anura equates to endorsing a coalition that aligns with the current administration, which Sajith accuses of shielding corrupt figures.
He highlighted his vision for revitalizing the country, including expanding manufacturing, modernizing schools, and improving the health sector, asserting that the agreement reveals fear of his proposed reforms and development plans.
