A 56-year-old man from Kotugoda was arrested at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake for smuggling Kush cannabis. Officers from the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) seized 1,883 grams of the drug during a raid at the airport.

In a separate operation, Midigama Police arrested a 20-year-old man from Weligama with 1,838 grams of crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as ‘Ice.’ The arrest occurred while the suspect was riding a motorcycle; three accomplices managed to escape.

Additionally, police arrested a 29-year-old from Walagedara in the Kosgahadeniya area with 920 grams of crystal methamphetamine. Investigations are ongoing in all cases to arrest any additional suspects involved.
