The National Election Commission has reported that 34 candidates from this year's presidential election have failed to submit their campaign expenditure reports. Out of 38 candidates, only four have complied with the commission's regulations.
The candidates who submitted their reports include former minister Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe from the National Democratic Front, Mahinda Devage from the Socialist Party of Sri Lanka, independent candidate Pemasiri Manage, and K. Ananda Kulathilake.
The commission has mandated that all candidates submit their financial disclosures by October 13, in line with the law governing election expenses. Those who fail to comply will face legal consequences, as said by the commission.
