Sri Lanka Cricket has officially announced the appointment of Sanath Jayasuriya as the head coach of the national team, effective October 1, 2024. 

The decision was made by the Executive Committee following the team's impressive performances during recent tours of India, England, and New Zealand, where Jayasuriya served as interim head coach.
His tenure will last until March 31, 2026.
