A 15-year-old girl from Colombo International School fell to her death from the observation deck of the Lotus Tower in Colombo yesterday evening(07), police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.

According to police, the girl, a Grade 11 student, was found on the concrete rooftop of the third floor. Police found a pair of shoes and her school bag, which contained examination papers, on the deck from which she fell. CCTV footage indicated that she had descended alone to the observation area and purchased a ticket.

Following the tragic event, the third floor has been designated as restricted access for visitors. This incident marks the third known death or serious injury associated with the Lotus Tower, raising concerns about safety at the location.
