On Monday, 56 Pakistani nationals were repatriated from Sri Lankan jails, thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Pakistani Ministry of Interior. A chartered plane transported the group, which included five women and 51 men, back to Pakistan.
The repatriation followed three months of collaboration between the Ministry of Interior, led by Mohsin Naqvi, and Sri Lankan authorities. Upon their return, one female repatriate expressed gratitude for the government's efforts, while another man shared his relief at being back in Pakistan after enduring challenging conditions during imprisonment.
Interior Minister Naqvi acknowledged the support of the Sri Lankan government and high commissioner in facilitating the process. He also thanked Federal Minister for Privatisation Abdul Aleem Khan for covering the expenses of the operation as a gesture of goodwill.
This is a huge humanitarian effort, providing relief to the families eagerly awaiting the return of their loved ones.
