The Department of Railways has announced a temporary suspension of train services on the Upcountry line from today until October 15. During this time, trains will operate only between Colombo Fort and Ella, from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

The restrictions are due to the filming of a joint Indo-Sri Lankan movie at the iconic Nine Arches Bridge, located between Ella and Demodara.

Passengers wishing to travel beyond Ella to Badulla will be accommodated by bus services arranged by the department. A luxury bus service will also be available for those with reserved seats during this period.
