A 32-year-old woman died from injuries sustained in an assault by her husband in the Batagama area of Ja-Ela. The woman was admitted to Ragama Hospital following the incident on Wednesday night and later transferred to Colombo National Hospital.

Preliminary investigations reveal that an argument between the couple escalated, prompting her brother to intervene. During the altercation, the husband allegedly pushed the woman, causing her to fall and sustain critical injuries.

The 33-year-old husband has been arrested in connection with her death, and the Kandana Police are continuing their investigation.
