Sri Lanka Economic Summit Rescheduled for January 2025

The Sri Lanka Economic Summit, hosted by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC), is scheduled to take place on January 28 and 29, 2025. Originally scheduled for November 2024, the event was postponed due to the upcoming General Election.

Themed “Shaping Sri Lanka’s Future: Transformational Growth Rooted in Sound Economic Policies,” the Summit aims to provide a crucial platform for discussing strategies in light of significant changes in Sri Lanka’s economic and political landscape.

“After two years of economic contraction, the country is striving for accelerated growth. With the recent debt restructuring and the Presidential election, it is vital to establish a foundation for sustainable, inclusive growth starting in 2025,” said the Chamber.

The Summit will focus on policies for an export-led investment model, leveraging Sri Lanka’s strategic location and access to growing regional markets. Breakout sessions will address key sectors including Tourism, Agriculture, and Value-Added Manufacturing.

As the country navigates this critical period, the insights gained from the Summit will be essential for informed decision-making, encouraging all stakeholders to participate actively in shaping Sri Lanka’s future.
