The advisory shows that the Embassy has received credible information regarding potential threats. As a precaution, travel restrictions for Embassy personnel in Arugam Bay are now in effect until further notice.

US citizens are strongly urged to refrain from visiting the area and to report any suspicious activity or emergencies to local authorities by dialing 119.
The Embassy advises travelers to remain vigilant, be aware of their surroundings, and to have communication devices readily available. Additionally, they are encouraged to monitor local media for updates on the situation.
