Badulla – A tragic bus accident on the Badulla-Dunhinda road has resulted in three fatalities and over 30 injuries, with several individuals in critical condition. The bus, carrying approximately 40 students from the Southern Campus of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU), toppled around 7:45 a.m. while returning from a field trip.

Initial reports indicate that the bus lost control after colliding with a bund, plummeting down a precipice between the third and fourth kilometer posts on the Badulla-Mahiyanganaya main road. Two female students have been confirmed dead, and six of the injured are currently receiving intensive care at Badulla Hospital.
