Man Arrested for Circulating Fake Rs. 5,000 Note with AKD’s Image Remanded

The individual accused of altering a Rs. 5,000 currency note to display President Anura Kumara Dissanayake's image and signature, and sharing it on social media, has been remanded by the Kesbewa Magistrate until 11 November.

The CID on 4 November arrested a 38-year-old man suspected of circulating a doctored image of a fake Rs. 5,000 currency note featuring President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

According to police, the suspect, a salesperson residing in Korathota, Athurugiriya, was taken into custody on Tuesday, 4 November.
