Former State Minister Lohan Ratwatte and his wife have been further remanded until 18 November by the Nugegoda Magistrate’s Court. The couple was initially arrested over charges of using a luxury car illegally imported and assembled in Sri Lanka.
Ratwatte, apprehended by Mirihana Police in Kandy on 31 October, was remanded until today but was admitted to the prison hospital due to illness on 2 November and later transferred to Colombo National Hospital.
On 4 November, his wife, Shashi Prabha Ratwatte, was also arrested after appearing in court regarding the case and was remanded until today.
