The Meteorology Department says that several spells of showers across the Northern, North-central Provinces, and Trincomalee district will occur today.

Fairly heavy showers, with rainfall amounts reaching up to 50mm, are likely in Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mullaittivu, and Trincomalee districts. Showers or thundershowers are also expected in the Central, Uva, and Southern provinces during the evening or night.

In addition, misty conditions are anticipated in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and North-western provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts during the morning hours.
