General Election: Voter's Index Finger to Be Marked for Identification

November 11, 2024

The Election Commission says that voters in the upcoming Parliamentary Election on November 14, 2024, will have their left index finger marked with an identifying ink instead of the traditionally marked little finger.

The decision follows concerns raised after the recent Presidential Election, where some confusion was reported regarding the marking process. The Election Commission clarified that if a voter’s left index finger is unavailable, an alternate finger will be marked accordingly to maintain the integrity of the voting process.
