Two bodies of the missing children have been recovered following a tragic incident where a tractor carrying 13 individuals, including 11 boys, the driver, and an assistant, overturned in strong flood currents.

The vehicle was travelling from Ninthavur to Sammanthurai when it was swept away near the bridge close to the Karaitivu bus stand. The students, aged between 12 and 16, were returning home from a Madrasa school in Ninthavur.

Five children were rescued, but four children, along with the driver and assistant, remain missing.
