The time given to the candidates to deposit bonds for the upcoming presidential election will end at mid-day today.
It did not take place yesterday as it was a public holiday.
A meeting to of the representatives of candidates who had already placed bonds was held yesterday with the participation of Elections Commissioner and police officers to inform the procedure on the nomination day. Nominations will be accepted on December 8 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Sixteen candidates from recognized political parties and two independents have deposited the respective bonds to contest the presidential election. They are:
