'Good Governance Should Be Measured By Success' : President

President Mahinda Rajapaksa said good governance should be measured by the outcome.

Speaking at a meeting in Kandy he added that if there was good governance for thirty years, the war should have been ended. The President said it was his government which ended it in four years, he added. It is because we had good governance.

He also added that there was a conspiracy similar to the one in 1815 now operating in 2015. Some leaders are now calling the terrorist leader Prabhakaran as Mr. Prabhakaran. Rajapaksa asked what these leaders are planning to do if they come to power.

Rajapaksa also said that people cannot be deceived by false allegations. The results of the last few years are evidence of success. It is much easier to level allegations that do work, he also stated.

The President is due to speak at a rally in Jaffna today and also attend the opening of the railway line to Kankesanturai.
