In a survey conducted by the "Sath Lanka" Foundation, it has revealed that the President will win the Presidential Election with a percentage of 54.73% and the Common Candidate will obtain only 40.02%.
The foundation revealed their statistics yesterday at a special press conference in Colombo.
The foundation which is Chaired by Lawyer Hemantha Gamage, revealed that President Mahinda Rajapaksa will win the Presidential Election 2015 by achieving a majority of votes from Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Kandy, Matale, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, Matara, Hambantota, Digamadulla, Kurunegala, Puttlam, Anuradhapura, and Kegalle districts.
The survey has also stated that the common candidate will achieve a majority of votes in Jaffna, Wanni, Madakalapuwa, Trincomalee and Polonnaruwa districts.
The survey has also revealed that President Mahinda Rajapaksa will emerge victorious in the Colombo district with a vote percentage of 52.36%. However, Colombo is known to be one of the biggest strongholds of the main opposition.
