CaFFE Urges People To Vote Without Fear Or Doubt

Campaign for Free and Fair Election Executive Director Keerthi Tennakoon requested people to vote for any candidate without any fear or doubt as the vote is a secret. Election officials are bound to preserve the secrecy of the vote, he added.

Releasing a special statement to media, Tennakoon urged the voters to go to the polling stations with a valid identification document and the polling card.

Commenting on the election monitoring by CaFFE, Tennakoon said that the organization has deployed more than 7700 observers and 460 mobile vehicles around the country.

The presidential election takes place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at 12,134 polling stations across the country. More than 15 million individuals are eligible to vote.
