Parliament Adjourned Till June 9: Special Session Ends In Deadlock

The parliament was adjourned without a decision on the three members to be appointed to the Constitutional Council.

The special session in parliament convened this morning for the purpose of approving the three civil society members for the Constitutional Council. However, a debate arose in the House on the controversial Central Bank bond issue.

During the debate, the Leader of the House proposed that MPs who support the dissolution of parliament should rise and show their support. The government MPs who attended and a significant number of opposition MPs rose as a result.

The Speaker, in response, said that he also favors the dissolution. The parliament was adjourned a short while after.

Later it was announced that the parliament will be adjourned until June 9. The debate on the three members to be appointed to the CC was not even taken up.
