Army And LTTE Suspects Clash In Vavuniya Five Years After End Of War

Nearly five years after the end of war, a clash erupted in Nedunkarni, Vavuniya last night between a group of LTTE suspects and the Sri Lanka Army, resulting in four deaths. 

According to Army sources three LTTE suspects have been killed in the clash while a soldier of SL Army succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to Padaviya hospital.

The clash erupted when the Army conducted an operation in search of 'Gopi', the suspect new leader of the LTTE, which, according to the Army, is now on resurgence in the North of Sri Lanka. 

The Army is yet to establish the identity of the three LTTE suspects who got killed last night.
