Pivithuru Hetak National Council Chairman Athuraliye Rathana Thera said that there was no possibility of supporting former president Mahinda Rajapaksa even if he contests under the leadership of Maithripala Sirisena, if he contests the election with his 'gang.'

 

Speaking at a press conference yesterday, Rathana Thera pointed out that his main concern was the prevention of corruption. He said that it was no major issue if Rajapaksa contests from the SLFP. However, if he comes with his gang, there is no possibility of supporting him, Rathana Thera insisted.

 

He also said that he is not too much concerned as to who becomes the Prime Minister of the country. At the moment, he is more concerned on Maithripala Sirisena's behavior as he is the leader of the country, Rathana Thera said.
