Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake will contest the upcoming general election from Colombo District, JVP Propaganda Secretary Vijitha Herath said on Tuesday.

 

Speaking at a press conference in Colombo, Herath said that K.D. Lalkantha, Lakshman Nipunaarachchi and Sunil Watagala will also contest from the Colombo District. Meanwhile, Vijitha Herath will lead the Gampaha District team along with National Organizer Bimal Rathnayake and Mahinda Jayasinghe.

 

Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa will lead the Kalutara District team and Matara District team will be led by Sunil Handunnetti. Samantha Vidyaratne will lead the Badulla District JVP team in the election.

 

Nihl Galappatti, the veteran JVP leader from Hambantota District, will once again lead the party in his district while former MP Wasantha Piyatissa will lead the team in neighboring Ampara District. Wasantha Samarasinghe has been appointed as district leader for Anuradhapura. Gamini Ratnayake leads the team in Kegalle and Ramalingam Chandrasekar is the JVP leader in Jaffna.
