The Bar Association of Sri Lanka handed over a letter to Chief Justice K. Sripavan requesting him not to allow Justice Sarath Abrew sit or carry out public function as a judge in future.

Furthermore, BASL urged the CJ to request Abrew to relinquish office in the name of integrity and reputation of the judiciary.

A housemaid who was employed in Abrew's house lodged a complaint recently alleging that he assaulted her. She was admitted to Kalubowila Hospital following the alleged attack.
