Supreme Court Justice Sarath de Abrew filed a Fundamental Rights petition, questioning the legality of the ongoing investigations against him.
A housemaid who was employed in Abrew's house lodged a complaint recently alleging that he assaulted her. She was admitted to Kalubowila Hospital following the alleged attack.
The investigation on the matter was handed over to the CID recently.
Meanwhile, Justice Sarath de Abrew sat on the bench today, despite a request made by the Bar Association of Sri Lanka from the Chief Justice, not to list him in court cases.
