North Western Province Chief Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara refuted rumors claiming that he is preparing to join the United National Party.

 

Speaking to Asian Mirror, Jayasekara said that a government can only be formed by a the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.

 

When asked about the possibility of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa contesting from the Kurunegala District Jayasekara said that he has no issue with it. Rajapaksa's inclusion in the campaign is an added advantage to the UPFA, he added.

 

Furthermore, Jayasekara said that he has no challenge in entering the parliament, adding that he has a vote base of his own.
