Pivithuru Hetak National Council Chairman Athuraliye Rathana Thera stated that the Eksath Yahapalana Jathika Peramuna (EYJP) is a front that is yet to be formed on the ground.

The name and symbol of the JHU were changed into EYJP and the diamond. Speaking today at a press conference organized by the Pivithuru Hetak National Council, Rathana Thera said that the EYJP was created since the party names had to be changed by last Friday.

The EYJP could still work with the UPFA, Rathana Thera said, adding that It will depend on the conduct of President Maithripala Sirisena during the next few days.

However, if there is no positive response, the EYJP would form a strong alternative front, he added.

The General Secretary of newly formed Janatha Srvaka Pakshaya Somawansa Amarasinhe also attended the meeting.
