Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries Jagath Pushpakumara refuted rumors that he will crossover to the United Natonal Party.

 

Speaking to Asian Mirror, Pushpakumara said that he has already singed nominations for Moneragala District and will be launching his election campaign the coming weekend.

 

Rumors are circulationg, especially in the Moneragala District, that Pushpakumara is considering crossing over to the UNP. However, he said that these rumors have been started by those who cannot win an election contesting from the UPFA ticket.

 

Pushpakumara said that he has been active in SLFP politics from 1994 and there was no need for him to abandon the party.
