The inaugural programme of a new educational scholarship scheme introduced by the President’s Fund for children of low-income lottery sales assistants was held yesterday (23) at the North Central Provincial Council Auditorium in Anuradhapura.
The event was held under the patronage of Speaker Dr Jagath Wickramaratne.
The scholarship scheme, introduced from 2026, is aimed at recognising the contribution made by lottery sales assistants to the President’s Fund through lottery sales.
The programme covers children from Grade One to the GCE Advanced Level across all provinces.
Under the inaugural phase, scholarships were awarded to 65 children of lottery sales assistants operating in the North Central Province.
