21-Year-Old Hasini Perera To Captain Sri Lanka Women In Asia Cup

Sri Lanka have appointed 21-year-old batter Hasini Perera as the captain of their T20 side for the upcoming Women's Asia Cup in Thailand. 

Perera has been chosen ahead of the more experienced Chamari Atapattu, Prasadini Weerakkody and Yashoda Mendis for the mutli-team tournament that starts later in November. 

Perera had made her captaincy debut recently when Sri Lanka played at home against Australia. The hosts were humbled by the strong Australian team, which won the T20I with 10 wickets and 71 balls to spare. 

Perera, who averages just above 6 in her 12 T20I matches, has been retained as the captian for the Asia Cup.
