Sri Lanka's Victory Comes At A Cost

Openers Niroshan Dickwella and Danushka Gunathilaka hit sublime centuries to help Sri Lanka humble Zimbabwe by eight wickets in the third one-day international in Hambantota on Thursday.

However, the win has come at a cost with the home side fined by the International Cricket Council for maintaining a slow over-rate earlier in the day.

Sri Lanka were deemed to be one over short of the target - factoring in time allowances - meaning captain Angelo Matthews was fined 20 per cent of his match fee and his teammates each forced to hand over 10 per cent of their payments for the day.

If a Mathews-led Sri Lankan side commits another over-rate offence within the next 12 months then the skipper will face a suspension.
