Sri Lanka Navy volleyball team competed in a friendly volleyball match with the crew members of the Indonesian Naval Ship, Kri Bung Tomo which arrived in Sri Lanka on 19 October on a goodwill visit. The friendly volleyball encounter was held at the Navy sports ground in Welisara 20 October. A host of senior naval officers from both countries were present on the occasion to watch the game.

The exciting game, in which the players exhibited true spirit of sportsmanship, brought different experience to both teams. On completion of the match, the Commanding Officer of the Indonesian ship, Captain Heri Triwibowo presented a memento to the Executive Officer of SLNS Thakshila, Commander Mohomed Arshard.
