West Indies Beat UAE, Move Into Qualification Spot For QF

The West Indies have moved back into Pool B's qualification spot for the World Cup quarter-finals with a six-wicket win over the United Arab Emirates in Napier.

The West Indies skittled the associate nation for 175 - having briefly had the Middle East team at 6 for 46 - only for a rearguard batting recovery from Amjad Javed (56) and Nasir Aziz (60) to add some respectability to the score.

The Caribbean side chased down the runs with 117 balls to spare, with Jonathan Carter (50 not out) leading the run chase after Johnson Charles (55) opened the innings in stable fashion.

The win sees the West Indies temporarily move up to fourth place, ahead of Ireland, which is currently facing Pakistan in a do-or-die clash in Adelaide.
