A special team under the former Director of Army Intelligence Major General Kapila Hendawitharan committed the Lasantha murder, the CID told Court today. 

CID told court this was based on Field Marshall Sarath Foneseka's statement to the CID. 

Field Marshall Fonseka had further revealed that this special team also committed the assaults on former Rivira Editor Upali Tennekoon and The Nation Deputy Editor Keith Noyahr.

The CID told court Field Marshall Major General Sarath Fonseka had said he had not been in charge of Colombo at the time, it was retired Major General Ajith Perera.
