The Met department said heavy rains were expected in many parts of the country within the next 24 hours. 

A Spokesman from the  Department added that there would be over 150 mm rainfall in some parts of the country. 

Western, Central, Uva and Sabaragamuwa provinces experienced heavy rains last week. 

Meanwhile, electricity has currently been disrupted in Kegalle, Rambukkana, Matugama and Agalawatte areas due to heavy rains.
