The Ministry of Health has released a list of canned fish products that are unsuitable for public consumption.
In a special communique, the ministry has informed senior state officials at the regional level to take action to ascertain if these products are available in the Sri Lankan market.
The communique has been sent by Dr. Sapumal Bandara, Secretary to the Food Advisory Committee of the ministry.
The Health Ministry has also informed them to immediate pull them out of the market.
The issue of canned fish products unsuitable for consumption was discussed widely at the Ministry's Advisory Committee meeting on May 10.
