Match Fixing Scandal: Angelo Mathews Arrives At FCID To Give Statement

Sri Lanka Test and ODI captain Angelo Mathews arrived at the police Financial Crimes Investigation Division to give statement on the match fixing scandal.

He is expected to give a statement regarding offers made to Kusal Perera and Rangana Herath by bookkeepers during the recent West Indies tour of Sri Lanka.

Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara recently complained to the FCID regarding these allegations, adding that the refusal by Kusal Perera may have led to him being involved in a doping scandal.

The FCID earlier recorded statements from Perera and Herath. Sri Lanka Cricket Manager Jerry Woutersz gave a statement to the FCID yesterday.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Cricket suspended two individuals, including fast bowling coach Anusha Samaranayake, over the match fixing scandal.
